2016 State Champion Calvin Spiewak

It’s amazing what happens when you change the way you think.

On March 12 this year, my oldest son Calvin won the Title of State Champion for the 50 yard Backstroke in the 10 and under age group at the Michigan State Swimming Championships.  He swam his personal best time of 31.82 sec.

Just a few weeks before I was reading in Orrin Woodward‘s Best-Selling book RESOLVED about former UCLA Basketball Coach John Wooden and his definition of success.  While most people would probably define “success” as winning an event, John Wooden, who is the most winningest coach in NCAA Div. 1 Basketball history (winning 10 NCAA Div.1 Championships in 12 years, 8 of which in a row), defines winning basically as “doing your personal BEST”.  My son definitely had an issue with attitude, he HATES losing!!!  No idea where he got that from??  Calvin focused so much  comparing himself with other swimmers, he totally forgot to do what John Wooden suggests and that is only focus on the ONE thing you have control over and that is DO YOUR PERSONAL BEST.

I still remember the day when Calvin and I drove home from a swim meet where he had lost to competitors  in certain events and he was very upset.  Being upset about a loss is not a bad thing but if your outbreaks of anger affect other people, then that’s not ok.  Of course, I’m not blaming him because guess who he learned that from??  The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree…  Fortunately, I had just read that chapter in Orrin’s book and we started talking about winning, losing, and doing your best.  I told Calvin how proud Lindsey & I were of him and that we believe God has a bright future for him and I encouraged him to stop spending time thinking about other swimmers and start focusing on the one thing he has control of, DOING THE BEST HE CAN.

Looking back, I am very proud of my son because rather than responding, “yeah, yeah, dad, what do you know about swimming…”, after all, at 10 years old (now 11) he is already way faster then I ever was, he started taking these suggestions to heart.  At swimming events the following weeks he seemed way more focused on himself, visualizing an upcoming race, and getting himself fired up.

A few weeks thereafter, Calvin did really well at the State Championship Meet, not only winning the State Title in the 50 Back but also coming in 2nd for the 50 Free with a PERSONAL BEST individual time of 28.12 secs.  WOW, that’s fast!!!

My family and I are so grateful for the difference that LIFE Leadership has made and is making in our lives.  Having mentors and examples like Orrin & Laurie Woodward, Chris & Terri Brady, and Bill & Keisha Lewis is priceless and truly a blessing.

Congrats again, Calvin, you are an amazing son and I am very blessed to be your father!!!

Al & Becki Matthews: DEBT FREE!!!

On February 28, 2016, Al & Becki Matthews paid off the remaining balance of their house mortgage making them COMPLETELY debt free, having escaped the Financial Matrix.  Below is their testimony and they give 100% credit to the financial wisdom they learned from the Financial Fitness Program.  Really proud of Al & Becki because they APPLIED what they learned and achieved amazing results!!!

After utilizing the finance information and getting some real truth about how things work with the banks and their interest and easy loans that they are so eager to give to people, we had a rude awakening. We started to figure how much we were in debt and what the real cost in the end would be and it made us both sick. No one can get what they put into a house when they sell it later as long as they obtain it with a bank. We wrote down our goals, made several lists of what was making money and what wasn’t and started to focus on the end goal and sell everything not needed, paid off any debt we had and was left with only the house debt. On February 18th we made our last payment to Wells Fargo.
We went from 195,000.00 in debt with cards, farm equipment payments and house payments to 0. The finance pack helped us get things straight and the Life business helped us to communicate so that we were able to be on board together.
The biggest things we have learned is write down your ideas, talk about it, think about it wait and ask for the lord to help us do the right thing. It is amazing how things come together when principals and tools that are taught in Life are utilized. The most important tool we used was, set your end goal, then little goals, make the rewards simple and no matter what, Delay you gratification. In the end it is so worth it. Don’t play if you have to pay interest. If you think it is owed to you, think carefully. Are you debt free first.
Next is financially free with a residual income to get Al home from his job, so we can continue to help others everywhere.

Why do people lie?  Before I go into discussing this, let me tell you that I am far from perfect and have lied many times in my life.  Big lies, small lies, and everything in between, I have plenty of experience.  However, for the last 13 some years, I have come to the understanding that lying is definitely wrong and it hurts many people and, therefore, have tried my best to stay away from engaging in this activity.

Webster’s defines a “lie” as 1. A FALSE STATEMENT WITH THE DELIBERATE INTENT TO DECEIVE, A FALSEHOOD. 2. SOMETHING INTENDED OR SERVING TO CONVEY A FALSE IMPRESSION; IMPOSTURE…

Why do people lie?  We would all have to agree that deep down we all know that lying is wrong.  Amazingly, even people that are habitual liars and reason to themselves and others that it’s ok for THEMSELVES to lie, would be upset if SOMEONE ELSE made false promises to them or lied to them in any way.

Why do people lie?  Since we all know deep down lying is wrong, there is always a reason why people lie.  We can probably agree that with very few exceptions people lie because they hope to derive some kind of benefit from not telling the truth but fabricating a lie, instead.  Many years ago I would show police officers my German driver’s license when i got pulled over (usually for going to fast…, I AM from Germany, after all), pretending that I did not have an American license, hoping that, with some luck, the officer would not know what to do with my German license and let me off with a warning.  Obviously, I felt at that time in my life, that it would be ok for me to lie in order to avoid a speeding ticket.  Sometimes it worked but even though I would be relieved for not getting a ticket, I always felt bad about what I had done and knew it was wrong.

14 years ago I met Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady through my friend Bill Lewis.  Ever since I met them their example has inspired me to do what is RIGHT.  Now, I am not claiming that Orrin and Chris are perfect, however, in my 46 years in this world I have met thousands of people from all walks of life and Orrin and Chris’ character and integrity has been second to none.  Being around these gentlemen in many situation, both in public and in private, their willingness to do what is right, even if it costs them, has been AMAZING, for lack of a better word.  On November 11, 2011, Orrin and Chris (together with Rob Hallstrand, Bill Lewis, Tim Marks, George Guzzardo, Claude Hamilton, and Dan Hawkins) founded and launched the LIFE Leadership company.  This happened after almost 2 decades of Orrin and Chris working on developing the BEST business concept the world has ever seen.  The continuous improvement is still ongoing.  Orrin is a genius and I truly believe that he is going to be the next Sam Walton.  Chris Brady recently announced that, after Orrin approached him with this idea, he would step back from his responsibilities of working in the field of LIFE Leadership to find and develop leaders of compensated communities, and become the CEO of LIFE Leadership.  Wow, here is a man true to his calling and I believe when the history books are written, Chris will be the Steve Jobs of LIFE Leadership.  Call me crazy but we will talk again in 50 years.

Now, what do Orrin, Chris, and LIFE Leadership have to do with lies?  Well, as amazing and truly life changing my personal journey with Orrin and Chris has been, as genius and innovative as the LIFE Leadership concept is, you would think that everybody should and would speak with high regards about Orrin Woodward, Chris Brady, and LIFE Leadership.  However, the sad truth is that there is a handful of individuals that have made it their life-purpose to spread as many lies about Orrin, Chris, and LIFE as possible and deceive as many people as possible about the FACTS of LIFE (pun intended), Orrin, and Chris and thereby depriving them from the life changing benefits that LIFE offers.  How do I know?  I see it all the time.  After sharing some ideas about LIFE with a friend, said friend would oftentimes surf the web to “CHECK IT OUT” and, invariably find websites authored by these certain individuals proclaiming to be in pursuit of TRUTH, supposedly “educating” the public about what they call the “LIFE Leadership Scam” or “Orrin Woodward’s PYRAMID SCAM” or many other false statements.
SIDEBAR… While we are on this subject of “pyramid”, how can LIFE Founder Tim Marks who is UNDERNEATH his sponsor, LIFE Founder Bill Lewis, in the structure of the LIFE Community, make significantly more money for 14 years in a row than Bill?? Guess who made more money when I was an engineer, me or my boss? Corporate America IS a pyramid. “LIFE is a pyramid”, just another popular lie. END SIDEBAR…

Through an intricate process of manipulating website rankings in google and other search engines, these website always end up towards the top of the list of popular searches about Orrin Woodward, Chris Brady, and LIFE Leadership.  Unsuspecting people in search of some facts about LIFE would invariably navigate to these websites and read and, more importantly, often believe in all the lies propagated on the websites.

Now, if you happen to be an individual in search of truth about Orrin, Chris, or LIFE Leadership that has visited these websites or is planning to hear “the other side”, please answer this one question for me:  WHY DO THE AUTHORS OF THESE WEBSITES NEVER PUT THEIR NAME ON THEIR WORK BUT ALWAYS CHOSE TO REMAIN ANONYMOUS???  People that share FACTS about Orrin, Chris, and LIFE Leadership always let you know who they are so, if you really want to, you can track them down and personally confront them.  Who are you going to believe?

Lynnette works at the same company that I was working at when I met Orrin and Chris and I have personally witnessed her life transform.  Her significant improvement in her self confidence alone is something to write home about.

Why do people lie about LIFE Leadership?  Most the time, what I have found, people that lie about Orrin, Chris, and LIFE, are individuals that were involved in our company before and they did not achieve their goals and, of course, when you fail at something, it CAN’T POSSIBLY be YOUR fault.  Most certainly, somebody ELSE is to blame for your lack of results and Orrin, Chris and LIFE Leadership are the favorite targets. My friend and business partner John Mossner pointed out in one of the first comments that there are also entities that envy Orrin & Chris’ success with LIFE Leadership and/or are diametrically opposed to the purpose of LIFE, leading people to truth. Such entities are engaging and paying some of the above mentioned individuals to spread lies about Orrin, Chris, and LIFE. Incredible but true.

Personally, I feel so embarrassed for these individuals because an in depth study of the FACTS always reveals their lies.  The sad thing for these individuals is that the person they are hurting the most is themselves.

Don’t be one of them.  Get the facts.  Do what is right and tell the truth!!

Changes in LIFE…

Hey gang:

God works in mysterious ways.  This weekend, He opened all the right doors for me to attend the LIFE Leadership Convention in Springfield, MA.  The biggest one being the birth of Eden Sandra Spiewak Friday, 7/20, at 5.33am.

Lots of great speakers and content shared.  So far, my favorite talk was Oliver DeMille’s ticket holder talk.  He shared that all of us and everybody we have ever met and will ever meet have genius inside.  He even gave us the technology to bring it out:

1.  How do you discover your genius?  Technology 1:   MISSION

He went on to encourage us to search deep as to what truly resonates with us.  For example:

(i) Feed the hungry

(ii) Clothe the Naked

(iii) Liberate the captives

(iv) Educate the ignorant

(v) Spread prosperity

(vi) Heal the sick

(vii) Spread beauty

(viii) Heal families

(ix) (other, your choice…)

2. How do you develop genius?  Technology 2:  SUBMISSION

“If you have a great mission, it is worth a great a submission.”

3. How do you polish up genius? Technology 3:  COMMISSION (& omission)

(i) omit what is holding you back

(ii)  Pull together the right group of people to come with you on your mission

4. How to let your genius loose in the world?  Technology 4:  TRANSMISSION

“Insert yourself between the way the world is right now and the way you want it.  Then say, “Here I stand, World, CHANGE!!!” and it will.

Finally, 5. Give glory to GOD.

DON’T try to start all at the at the same time, but figure out which stage you have not mastered and then work on that until you master it, then move on to the next one.

Really great stuff… Oh yeah, I was gonna talk about the awesome changes coming.  Well, I am tired (it is 3.36am), so here goes…

Orrin Woodward

Through my good friend and business partner, Bill Lewis, I met Orrin Woodward (and Chris Brady) in October 1999.

I was 32 years old.  At that time in my life, I had exhausted all wisdom that had been imparted onto me on my road to success.  “Go to to school, get good grades, get a good job, and work hard.”  had been the message that I had heard clearly growing up.  Check, check, check, and check!!  Did all those things, got 3 (THREE!!!) Masters Degrees, just to make sure, got a “great” job as an engineer where I made “good” money.  However, after only 2 years in corporate America, it became very apparent to me that I could not be part of it for much longer, let alone, the rest of my life!!  Let’s just say, I was “looking”.  Enter Orrin Woodward, Chris Brady, and TEAM.

Ever since then, I have attempted to follow these two incredible leaders and model my life after their example.  Here are 3 phenomenal articles about Orrin, 1) from my friend and business partner, Kirk Birtles, 2) from my friend and mentor, Bill Lewis, and 3) from TEAM legend Tim Marks, that really explain well what Orrin has done, will do, and who he is (very similar articles could be written about Chis Brady).  If people complain that TEAM doesn’t work, I have only the following analogy in response:  “If someone buys an exercise bike and does not loose any weight, it is NOT the fault of the bike!!”  Also, I reference a post I wrote in November of 2011 about Orrin being a “scam-artist”.

Now, almost 13 years later, I call myself a “recovering engineer” and my life is amazing.  Lindsey and I say to each other almost every day, how blessed we are.  it is all due to applying the principles taught through the LIFE business and having mentors like Orrin and Chris.

Orrin Woodward and Team LIFE launch Mental Fitness Challenge

Wow, Team LIFE, lead by the #6 and #11 leadership gurus in the World, Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady, respectively, is embarking on one of the most exciting journeys that I can imagine.  It is called the MENTAL FITNESS CHALLENGE, or short MFC!!

How many of you guys have ever been on a diet to loose weight?  How many ever lost weight while on the diet and regained it after getting off the diet?!?  It sure has happened to me.  Why does it not work?  The only way to implement LASTING change is to change your habitual behavior, your habits.  And a diet focuses on fitness for your body but until your mind changes, your thinking is brought under your own control, lasting change cannot happen.  That is where the MFC comes in, it a fitness program for your mind!!  Monday this week, I opened my MFC kit and got started.  First you have to determine which area you are going to attack, so you take an assessment test where you answer a number of question and the program than ranks how you rate yourself in the areas of 13 Resolutions that Orrin shared in his book RESOLVED (part of the MFC kit).  You can then ask friends, family, associates, mentor, etc. for anonymous 360 degree feedback and discover discrepancies between how you rank yourself and how those who know you grade you.  Here is a great article from Orrin Woodward going into details.

Talking to my wonderful wife, Lindsey, I asked her whether my 90 day challenge should focus on a business goal or a personal goal and we both agreed, it should be a family goal, so here it is:

I, Holger Spiewak, will focus on becoming a better father in the next 90 days!!

God has blessed me with 4 awesome kids (#5 is due in July…), and I want to be the best dad I can be, the dad that they deserve and I am asking everybody reading this, to hold me accountable.  Let others know to please do so, as well.  This is very important to me.  Now part of the MFC is to have Accountability Partners, so you can actually enlist people that will automatically be notified of your progress as you complete daily tasks.  Of course, I will not ask everybody reading this to do that but I do encourage you to ask when you see me how things are going.

I am really excited because I already have noticed a change in a positive direction.  The 2nd day into the challenge, Lindsey asked me if I would let our oldest son read to me.  My initial reaction was to say, “No, I am busy!!”, but because I now have written down on top of my daily progress tracking sheet that I want to improve as a father, I held these words right before they left my mouth and said, “YES, I can!”

LIFE, Faith

Hello, this is Holger Spiewak and I met Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady in October 1999 through my friend Bill Lewis. Certainly, my life has been incredibly blessed through my association with them. Every F has been impacted, faith, family, freedom, finances, fitness, following, friends, and fun!

Even though I was blessed with an incredible business, financial freedom, the most amazing wife, and 4 wonderful children (and yes, all because of principles learned), the biggest blessing is that where when I met Orrin and Chris I thought I was merely a cosmic accident, completely came into being by chance and after death there was certain NOTHING, I now have a personal relationship with God Almighty through His son, my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

His promise of eternal life in paradise is a treasure that now is certain for me, it cannot be taken away, and is literally the ultimate desire of every human being who ever existed. Orrin always says that the purpose of Team is to lead people to the truth. Well it did for me, I encountered the ultimate truth, that there is a God, the God of the Bible. I am a sinner and only by His grace did I gain this blessing. Just like for me, eternal life and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, your ultimate friend, who knows everything about you and YET loves you unconditionally, is available for you. His word says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

LIFE is good!
