Changes in LIFE…
Hey gang:
God works in mysterious ways. This weekend, He opened all the right doors for me to attend the LIFE Leadership Convention in Springfield, MA. The biggest one being the birth of Eden Sandra Spiewak Friday, 7/20, at 5.33am.
Lots of great speakers and content shared. So far, my favorite talk was Oliver DeMille’s ticket holder talk. He shared that all of us and everybody we have ever met and will ever meet have genius inside. He even gave us the technology to bring it out:
1. How do you discover your genius? Technology 1: MISSION
He went on to encourage us to search deep as to what truly resonates with us. For example:
(i) Feed the hungry
(ii) Clothe the Naked
(iii) Liberate the captives
(iv) Educate the ignorant
(v) Spread prosperity
(vi) Heal the sick
(vii) Spread beauty
(viii) Heal families
(ix) (other, your choice…)
2. How do you develop genius? Technology 2: SUBMISSION
“If you have a great mission, it is worth a great a submission.”
3. How do you polish up genius? Technology 3: COMMISSION (& omission)
(i) omit what is holding you back
(ii) Pull together the right group of people to come with you on your mission
4. How to let your genius loose in the world? Technology 4: TRANSMISSION
“Insert yourself between the way the world is right now and the way you want it. Then say, “Here I stand, World, CHANGE!!!” and it will.
Finally, 5. Give glory to GOD.
DON’T try to start all at the at the same time, but figure out which stage you have not mastered and then work on that until you master it, then move on to the next one.
Really great stuff… Oh yeah, I was gonna talk about the awesome changes coming. Well, I am tired (it is 3.36am), so here goes…

Orrin Woodward
Through my good friend and business partner, Bill Lewis, I met Orrin Woodward (and Chris Brady) in October 1999.
I was 32 years old. At that time in my life, I had exhausted all wisdom that had been imparted onto me on my road to success. “Go to to school, get good grades, get a good job, and work hard.” had been the message that I had heard clearly growing up. Check, check, check, and check!! Did all those things, got 3 (THREE!!!) Masters Degrees, just to make sure, got a “great” job as an engineer where I made “good” money. However, after only 2 years in corporate America, it became very apparent to me that I could not be part of it for much longer, let alone, the rest of my life!! Let’s just say, I was “looking”. Enter Orrin Woodward, Chris Brady, and TEAM.
Ever since then, I have attempted to follow these two incredible leaders and model my life after their example. Here are 3 phenomenal articles about Orrin, 1) from my friend and business partner, Kirk Birtles, 2) from my friend and mentor, Bill Lewis, and 3) from TEAM legend Tim Marks, that really explain well what Orrin has done, will do, and who he is (very similar articles could be written about Chis Brady). If people complain that TEAM doesn’t work, I have only the following analogy in response: “If someone buys an exercise bike and does not loose any weight, it is NOT the fault of the bike!!” Also, I reference a post I wrote in November of 2011 about Orrin being a “scam-artist”.
Now, almost 13 years later, I call myself a “recovering engineer” and my life is amazing. Lindsey and I say to each other almost every day, how blessed we are. it is all due to applying the principles taught through the LIFE business and having mentors like Orrin and Chris.

Orrin Woodward and Team LIFE launch Mental Fitness Challenge
Wow, Team LIFE, lead by the #6 and #11 leadership gurus in the World, Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady, respectively, is embarking on one of the most exciting journeys that I can imagine. It is called the MENTAL FITNESS CHALLENGE, or short MFC!!
How many of you guys have ever been on a diet to loose weight? How many ever lost weight while on the diet and regained it after getting off the diet?!? It sure has happened to me. Why does it not work? The only way to implement LASTING change is to change your habitual behavior, your habits. And a diet focuses on fitness for your body but until your mind changes, your thinking is brought under your own control, lasting change cannot happen. That is where the MFC comes in, it a fitness program for your mind!! Monday this week, I opened my MFC kit and got started. First you have to determine which area you are going to attack, so you take an assessment test where you answer a number of question and the program than ranks how you rate yourself in the areas of 13 Resolutions that Orrin shared in his book RESOLVED (part of the MFC kit). You can then ask friends, family, associates, mentor, etc. for anonymous 360 degree feedback and discover discrepancies between how you rank yourself and how those who know you grade you. Talking to my wonderful wife, Lindsey, I asked her whether my 90 day challenge should focus on a business goal or a personal goal and we both agreed, it should be a family goal, so here it is:
I, Holger Spiewak, will focus on becoming a better father in the next 90 days!!
God has blessed me with 4 awesome kids (#5 is due in July…), and I want to be the best dad I can be, the dad that they deserve and I am asking everybody reading this, to hold me accountable. Let others know to please do so, as well. This is very important to me. Now part of the MFC is to have Accountability Partners, so you can actually enlist people that will automatically be notified of your progress as you complete daily tasks. Of course, I will not ask everybody reading this to do that but I do encourage you to ask when you see me how things are going.
I am really excited because I already have noticed a change in a positive direction. The 2nd day into the challenge, Lindsey asked me if I would let our oldest son read to me. My initial reaction was to say, “No, I am busy!!”, but because I now have written down on top of my daily progress tracking sheet that I want to improve as a father, I held these words right before they left my mouth and said, “YES, I can!”

Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady Brainstorm, TEAM
Wow!! Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady are at it again. It is amazing when these 2 TOP 15 Leadership Gurus get together and brainstorm. Great things usually result and it looks like this time was no difference. What an amazing way to gage where you are at right now, set goals, and keep track of your progress as you improve your skills in each area of life, using the LIFE products and great mentors available on TEAM. Thank you, Bill, for letting us know about this. -Holger
Orrin of the-team.biz has come up with another great illustration to describe the 8F growth process. I have seen a simliar diagram used to visually show improvement in a persons golf game. These kind of diagram are great because they give an immediate feedback on how you are doing. bill lewis
Chris Brady and I flew up to Atlanta for a 6 hour mastermind session on Tuesday. Here is one of many concepts that were generated from brainstorming together. Generating ideas with Chris Brady is like drinking water from a firehose – fast and furious! 
I love our 17 year business partnership! LIFE is something special and I have never felt as good about community building as I do today. Laurie and I started a new leg 10 days ago and it is now over 10 levels in depth! The LIFE Business is good because it helps people become good in their Circle of LIFE. I had a very engaging conversation with my friend and co-author Orrin Woodward today. As usual, we kicked around a ton of stimulating ideas and pieced together something that, in our estimation, will immediately convey greater understanding as to the purpose of the LIFE business. (See the inset diagram).
- The CIRCLE of LIFE
In each of the 8 F categories of Faith, Family, Finances, Fitness, Following, Freedom, Friendship, and Fun, one can imagine a certain grade based upon how one is doing in that category. In the diagram the center represents horrible, as in, you are totally “stinking up the joint” (as my kids say) in a certain category. Working your way out from the center to the outer ring in any of the categories represents a stronger grade. So someone with a dot near the outer ring is doing well in that category. By connecting the dots on your subjective personal estimation of your life at this moment in each of the categories you can come up with a shape that roughly represents your life right now in each of the 8Fs.
Quite simply, the LIFE business supplies life-changing information to help you increase your score in each of the 8Fs. The goal is to take someone from the not-so-good black shape represented toward the center of the diagram to the much improved (and happier, we would think) life represented by the red outline toward the outer ring of the circle.
Who doesn’t have at least a category or two, or three, or eight, in which he or she would like to have a better score? Who wouldn’t want to transform his or her life from the tiny blob (and who among us hasn’t felt like a tiny blob from time to time?) in the center to the big wheel (and who hasn’t wanted to be a big wheel at least once in his or her life?) toward the outer ring?
That’s it. From little blob to big wheel.
But all kidding aside. This CIRCLE of LIFE is the snap-shot diagram to which people can easily relate when it comes to understand the goal of LIFE and the life-changing information we offer. We will help people learn and apply truth in each category and thereby improve their shape.

Why is it that the greatest leaders of all-time seem to either have rabid fans or rabid critics? The answer is simple: truth polarizes. When a leader leads with his convictions, others, who do not hold the same convictions, will criticize the endeavor. Throughout history, men and women like Mother Theresa, Martin Luther, Sam Walton, Oliver Cromwell, George Washington, and Abraham Lincoln, to name a few, have received mountaintop praise and sewer-based criticisms. In fact, if a person desires to change the world, then he better build a tough skin while maintaining a soft heart, because he will be criticized! –Orrin Woodward
I have seen this in my own LIFE. As I went out and started my business there were many that criticized what I was doing. I could never understand why someone would criticize a person for trying to do better and trying to get ahead. Then one day I was at a Team leadership seminar and I heard the answer. The speaker said that its like watching a dog that is chasing a rabbit. The dog is running over plants, through bushes, doing everything he can to try and catch the rabbit. If the people who were watching the dog couldn’t see the rabbit they would think the dog was crazy. This is how some of my critics saw me. –Bill Lewis
Could not agree more!! Everybody wants you to get by, just not by them. Because when you succeed all the critics will have to admit they were wrong, by default. Nobody wants to do that, so what do they do? Anything in their power to stop you, which means negative comments, gossip, rumor, blatant lies, whatever it takes. The good news is best outlined in one of my favorite Orrin quotes: “People of integrity expect to be believed and if they’re not, they let time prove them right.” In reality, there is nothing “THEY” can do to you, unless you let them. So, lead on!! Don’t let critics stop you, only you can!

FREEDOM
This is Holger Spiewak. Today, I would like to take a few minutes and talk about the subject of FREEDOM. In working with Orrin Woodward for over 12 years now I have certainly gained a whole new perspective on Freedom.
Thomas Paine is quoted to have said,
“What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon it’s goods; and it should be strange indeed, if so celestial an article as Freedom should be highly rated.”
For a long time of my life I was certainly swimming along with the stream of the vast majority of people that took the freedoms that I have been blessed with for granted. Even though, I served in the German Air Force for 2 years and felt that at least to a small extend I was “fighting with NATO against the evil empire”, I certainly had no appreciation of my freedoms and the price that somebody had to pay for me to enjoy them. Growing up in a FREE Germany was certainly nice. Meeting a close family friend, Dan Quinn, who had just started his first assignment as an officer in the U.S. Air Force in Germany in 1983 started me on a path the would eventually lead me to America in 1993.
America, Land of the free, home of the brave. “Amerika, das Land der unbegrenzten Moeglichkeiten”, as we say in Germany, in English, “America, the land of unlimited possibilities”. Similar statements are known in different countries throughout the world, basically, stating the same sentiment. So, one has to ask, WHY is America so “free”? Obviously, we can take that into many directions, starting with the fact that those that came to America from the old world were looking to escape tyranny and oppression. The generations following had to endure many hardships and fight for freedom, settling the West, the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, World War I, World War II. In all these endeavors, many Americans sacrificed dearly, many gave their lives in the pursuit of freedom. In the beginning, for America’s freedom but eventually, which is even more amazing, for my freedom. Who knows how Germany during my childhood would have looked like had Hitler won the war. Likely I would have been “trained” in the Hitler youth about the “great freedoms” that come with living under a fascist regime. Thanks, but “no, thanks!!”
The point is that freedom is not free. Freedom has won those battles but the war is still going on. The enemy is no longer King George, Slavery, or Adolf Hitler, the enemy is… Well, who is it?!?
In my eyes, there is a lot of forces now that are battling a war of ideas. A war behind the scenes, that most people are not aware of. These forces are working on taking our freedoms away one by one, little by little. And what do most people do about that? Play computer games, watch more football, entertain more, turn the other way, because, who cares about the future generations? I don’t care if my grandkids and their kids enjoy the same freedoms I have as long as I am happy… Really?!? Is that how we feel? Of course not. But that is how we act. For a long time of my life, I have acted that way, done my share of playing computer games and wasted my life away being entertained. I believe it was the cartoon character POGO who once said, “We have met the enemy and he is US!”, I say, EXACTLY!!! After reading the excellent book FREEDOM SHIFT, by Oliver DeMille, Founder of the Center for Social Leadership (http://www.thesocialleader.com/), which I obtained through the LIFE materials, I realize that as long as I remain a passive bystander and don’t actively get involved to fight for freedom, I AM an accomplice of the enemy, I AM the enemy!!! However, I can do something in the fight for FREEDOM. I can turn off my computer games, turn off the TV, sacrifice some entertainment and educate myself in what it will take to turn the tide around and do something about it. And, hopefully, if enough of us are willing to change and fight for freedom, our grandkids and the generations following will have a chance to enjoy the freedoms that so many people today take for granted.

Orrin Woodward, a scam artist???
This is Holger Spiewak. Orrin Wooward a scammer? (Click here for a great article on the subject.) I met Orrin Woodward over 12 years ago and have gotten to know him really well over this time span. Now, I am not his closest friend but I have spend enough time with him personally and listened to him both at live events and through recordings that it must add to 1000s of hours. Speaking to His disciples, Jesus says, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (Jn. 8:32). What I know about Orrin (and he will be the first to admit this) is that he is a sinner. But, as the article says, “ye shall know them by their fruit” and the fruit I have witnessed in Orrin’s life testifies that he is a sinner saved by grace. God has given Orrin some incredible talents, many of which Orrin had to work extremely hard to develop. Does he use them for God’s glory, ABSOLUTELY!! Is Orrin perfect? NO!! does he make mistakes? ABSOLUTELY!! But I have witnessed that in every situation, Orrin strives to do what is right. What I see is a man, that has been incredibly blessed but he knows where his blessings come from and gives the glory to his creator.
Steve Jobs is known to have said, “I will leave a dent in the universe.” Now, as an ex-scientist, I am not sure how that would be possible but I believe that Orrin Woodward has a destiny to make a difference in the world and change the course of history. My family feels blessed to call him a friend and mentor.

Hello, this is Holger Spiewak and I met Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady in October 1999 through my friend Bill Lewis. Certainly, my life has been incredibly blessed through my association with them. Every F has been impacted, faith, family, freedom, finances, fitness, following, friends, and fun!
Even though I was blessed with an incredible business, financial freedom, the most amazing wife, and 4 wonderful children (and yes, all because of principles learned), the biggest blessing is that where when I met Orrin and Chris I thought I was merely a cosmic accident, completely came into being by chance and after death there was certain NOTHING, I now have a personal relationship with God Almighty through His son, my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
His promise of eternal life in paradise is a treasure that now is certain for me, it cannot be taken away, and is literally the ultimate desire of every human being who ever existed. Orrin always says that the purpose of Team is to lead people to the truth. Well it did for me, I encountered the ultimate truth, that there is a God, the God of the Bible. I am a sinner and only by His grace did I gain this blessing. Just like for me, eternal life and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, your ultimate friend, who knows everything about you and YET loves you unconditionally, is available for you. His word says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
